Doctrine does help, I do noticeable better once I have my doctrines. It's pretty hard to tell how effective radar is but I've started building it more because I like the radar coverage on the air map. AA units can shoot down enemy planes if they get attacked but probably are not worth a factory slot. I think 20 is the current optimal CAS squadron size as that is the usual early game width size and they can group up for bigger fights.īuilding AA mostly reduces the effectiveness of enemy strategic bombing and is probably worth it if you're losing factories often. Strategic Bombers are mostly for bored British and US players though, you don't need to bomb your conquests and transports are only needed for paratroopers. Naval bombers destroy ships so hard they'll get toned down in a later patch and CAS and Tactical Bombers can also do well at it. Having CAS on top of air superiority gives another bonus on top of that. Having air superiority through fighters gives a big bonus to ground troops. There is also a bug that was fixed in the beta patch where if your fleets goes out of range it auto dies. You can rebase them to change operational range starting point and there is no attrition but they will rack up damage from fighting and needs repairs. Your fleets have a range and can't go into red areas when giving them missions.

You just send your fleet out and hope that it can beat whatever it runs into. Not as easy as army management but not impossible. With planes you can have multiple airfields open at one and move squadrons to a new airfield by selecting them on the air regions screen.

You can choose the rally new ships to fleets in the production screen.
